I used to think if I exercise more, then I will burn more calories, then I will be skinnier= well I was WRONG! As my example: I started with a 2km run 3x/week with 2 group tennis classes/week and I ended up with 10km daily and 4 tennis classes with 3 weight lifting days... I started to exercise 2x or 3x a day, it became more than a hobby, but I don't think I did it right. As soon as my weight dropping stopped, I added another exercise, instead of switching workout. I literally burned my muscles instead of building them. Botton line that I learned to exercise less and how to spicy it up!!!
Now that is off season in body building, I will go to the gym 3-4x/week and do cardio session 3x a week. Gym time should be around an hour and cardio should be around 20-30 min.
I like to divide my gym days into body parts:
-Back with Tricep
-Shoulders with Tricep
-Abs always a MUST ;)
What does spicy it up means???
It means if your body will used to something (even a good something) then after a while there won't be any change! I usually spicy up my runnings with HIIT sprints, leg days with some jumps, and free weights with some machine weight lifting...
There is no wrong or right!!! Variety will lead you to success, you can vary the amount of weight, the amount of exercise, and the type of exercises.
